Paul Criswell

  

Paul Criswell is an Independent General Counsel, serving as the chief in-house legal officer for several high technology companies, each on a limited-time basis. His practice focuses on the unique legal issues confronting high growth companies in the computer, communications, information, and electronic commerce markets.

Paul served for three years as the General Counsel for VideoServer, Inc., a manufacturer of videoconferencing networking equipment. He served in the legal department of Stratus Computer Inc. for eleven years where he was both Division Counsel for the Telecommunications Division and Associate General Counsel for the corporation. Paul was also in private practice, in the litigation department of Boston law firm Sullivan & Worcester LLP and a staff counsel for Digital Equipment Corporation.

Paul is a Contributing Editor to the Bowne Digest for Corporate and Securities Lawyers, published by Brumberg Publications. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover, Massachusetts, where he taught courses in Securities Law, Computer and High Technology Law, and Negotiations. He was an Instructor at the Northeastern University Metropolitan College, where he taught Business Law. He is a frequent public speaker, talking on such issues as international expansion in the high technology industry, Year 2000 preparedness, electronic commerce transactions, and in-house/outside counsel relations.

Paul is a 1980 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with distinction, from The Ohio State University.
