Carol Cantrell

  

Carol Cantrell is a CPA, lawyer, and financial planner with the accounting firm of Briggs & Veselka Co. in Bellaire (Houston), Texas. She focuses on financial planning for executives, families, and retirees, with a specialty in stock options, trusts, partnerships, and estate taxes. Along with many articles in various journals, she has written the book Guide to Estate, Tax, and Financial Planning with Stock Options, published by CCH. She speaks widely on various topics in her field.

In addition to being a CPA and a CFP, she earned a JD (cum laude) at the University of Houston Law Center and has been admitted to practice in the US Tax Court, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Second Circuits, and the US District Court Southern District of Texas. Earlier, she earned a BA in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin, and she still counts math among her hobbies.

She is a member of the Houston Bar Association and is on the editorial advisory board of the magazine The Tax Adviser, published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
