
Tom Davison (614-885-1115; tom@summitfin.com) is a Senior Advisor at Summit Financial Strategies, Inc. (www.summitfin.com). Summit is a fee-only firm in Columbus, Ohio, with clients around the country. Summit melds executive compensation with other family assets to meet the family's financial goals. Stock options often are the dominant portion of a family's wealth and are cultivated through a structured, comprehensive wealth-management process.
Tom has special interest in executive compensation. He has developed analytical methods addressing the risks and rewards of stock-based compensation and is a technical consultant for the leading software for optimizing stock option wealth. He teaches continuing education classes for CPAs on employer stock options, Monte Carlo forecasting methods, and employer stock in qualified retirement plans. He publishes articles and makes presentations on a variety of wealth-management topics and is frequently quoted in the local and national press. His contributions were acknowledged in the College of Financial Planning's CFP textbook on investing. He has served as a reviewer for Financial Planning Association publications and for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Certification exam.
Tom is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor and a Certified Financial Plannerâ practitioner. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, the Nazrudin Project, NAPFA, and the Worthington Estate Planning Council and is a founding officer of the Central Ohio chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors.
Trained as a quantitative scientist, Tom received BS, MA, and PhD degrees in cognitive psychology from Duke, Bradley, and Ohio State universities. In a corporate career at AT&T Bell Laboratories he managed large software-development projects. He is married and is cared for by two terriers.
